Introduction
Welcome to the world of Vedic astrology, where the D60 chart shines as a treasure trove of wisdom waiting to be unearthed. This special chart, gifted to us by the ancient sage Maharishi Parashara, holds the key to understanding life’s intricacies. The D60 chart, also known as the Shashtiamsha chart, is particularly esteemed for its depth and precision in delineating the finer nuances of an individual’s destiny. In the Varga scheme, it holds a higher rating, signifying its importance in providing insights into the subtle influences and karmic patterns that shape one’s life journey.
However, doubts often linger about its accuracy, mainly due to the ongoing debate about ayanamsa adjustments. In our quest to unravel the mysteries of the D60 chart, we choose a simple yet profound approach. Instead of getting bogged down in technicalities, we rely on the Moon’s sign (Chandra lagna) as our starting point in D60. It’s a choice accessible to everyone, regardless of how precisely their birth time is known. While the exact starting point of the D60 chart (D60 lagna) remains uncertain, the Moon’s position provides a stable foundation for our exploration.
Following the footsteps of Maharishi Parashara, we also pay attention to something called the karaka lagna. It’s like assigning specific roles to each planet, helping us understand different aspects of life in a clear and meaningful way. For example, the Sun is the karaka of the Father, so we check the 9th house which represents the father from the Sun.
To keep our journey on the right track, we trust in the Lahiri ayanamsa. It’s a trusted tool that helps us stay grounded in the midst of uncertainty, ensuring our interpretations remain sincere and true.
As we embark on this journey together, let’s remember that the beauty of Vedic astrology lies in its simplicity and sincerity. With the Moon’s guidance and the wisdom of the ancients as our compass, let’s dive into the depths of the D60 chart and uncover the hidden gems that await us.

Category- Doctors
Jonas Salk: Pioneer virologist who developed the first effective polio vaccine, saving countless lives and revolutionizing public health worldwide. His dedication to scientific inquiry and humanitarianism continues to inspire generations.
Analyzing from the perspective of Moon as the 1st house, Jonas Salk’s chart reveals significant astrological alignments. With the Moon situated in Capricorn, Jupiter, the planet of higher knowledge and expansion, occupies the 5th house of education. Notably, it receives the aspect of Mercury, the lord of the 6th (representing diseases) and 9th houses, from Scorpio, suggesting a focus on biological studies and a learned disposition.
Venus, symbolizing the knowledge of healing (Sanjeevani Vidya), governs the 5th house and resides in the 10th house. Despite being aspected by Mars and Saturn, the influence of Saturn is mitigated by Jupiter’s aspect from the 5th house. This astrological configuration aligns with Salk’s pioneering work in developing the polio vaccine, a breakthrough that profoundly impacted public health, embodying the potential indicated by his chart.
Pediatrician- Analyzing the chart from the perspective of Moon in Libra, the placement of Venus, Jupiter, and Mercury indeed forms a Saraswati Yoga. With Mercury in the lagna, Jupiter in the 4th house, and Venus in the 11th house aspected by Saturn, this combination bestows immense wisdom, intelligence, and eloquence.
Moreover, the 5th house and its lord, representing education, receive the auspicious aspect of Venus (Sanjeevani Vidya) and Mars from Cancer. This exchange, along with the connection between Mars and Jupiter through exaltation signs, reinforces the theme of bio-medical education and expertise. Jupiter’s placement as the 6th lord of illness in Saturn’s sign further underscores a profound understanding of health challenges and their solutions.
Oncologist- He practiced as Oncologist and now researching and also guides young practitioners.
Moon is in Pisces. There is Gaj-Keshari Yoga, Jupiter in 10th house from Moon. Moon is with Rahu and aspected by Saturn, makes this Moon as drugged which is important to become doctor. See Moon of previous two examples as well.
5th house of education has Cancer rashi with Mercury in it, and Moon which is 5th lord again in rashi of Pisces, with Rahu (Significator of Cancer disease) — for studies of medical science there is always significant influence of watery rashis, and Jupiter and Venus.
In the 10th house, Jupiter, along with the 6th lord Sun, confirms his practice, research, and guidance—Jupiter holds significant importance in these endeavors. Venus and Mars are positioned in the 12th house, indicating a foreign country where he settled despite being born in India. Sadly, his father passed away early. Mars, the 9th lord (long distant journey’s), and Venus (neighbors), the 3rd lord, both reside in the 12th house, while the 12th lord Saturn aspects the 4th lord (residence) in the 5th house. The affliction on the 9th lord (father) in the 12th house clearly signifies the early demise of his father.
Doctor- A practicing general physician.
Moon in Leo, with Rahu. Leo lagna- Sun in 5th house of Sagittarius. Sun is karaka of vitality and also medicine. Aspected by both Mars and Saturn, from Jeeva tatwa rashis of Mercury and Jupiter respectively. From Mercury, which is Karaka Lagna for education- we see Jupiter in 5th house of Taurus and Venus in Aries.
Jupiter is once again in the 10th house from Moon. This association of Jupiter with the 10th house is evident in all four charts. Although I have only included four charts in this analysis, my study of 62 charts of doctors reveals a consistent pattern: Jupiter, the significator of medical science, is associated with the 5th and 10th lords from the Moon lagna in D60. If the Lahiri Ayanmsha were incorrect, this pattern would not hold true, but it does, providing further authentication of the Lahiri Ayanmsha’s efficacy up to D60.
